Poem: Incorporating Resurrection

Every moment is growing longer,
Getting harder to work through,
Every moment I’m waiting on you.

The strength I used to know abandoned me,
I keep falling down on weak knees,
Cutting fresh wounds into soft skin.

The cascade of salt water that streaks my face,
Turns cheeks into canyons,
I haven’t the power to wipe them away.

The tears I wish to wipe away, will run unchecked for another day. Alas, that is the price I pay.
